Diced conch salad with tomatoes, onion, peppers, and citrus juices in a bowl.
Conch salad

Conch salad is a Bahamian preparation of diced raw conch, vegetables and citrus juice. The conch is a marine mollusc whose meat is used in several forms of Bahamian cooking. The tourism ministry’s account describes a salad with onion, sweet pepper, lime and orange juice.[1]

Nassau Paradise Island’s published recipe adds tomato, cucumber, bell pepper and jalapeño to cleaned, diced conch, with lime and orange juice mixed through it. The board also describes tropical versions containing mango or pineapple. These fruit additions vary the salad while retaining its conch and citrus base.[2]
