Sliced grilled pork on rice with pickled vegetables and a small cup of sauce.
Bai sach chrouk

Bai sach chrouk is a Cambodian breakfast of grilled pork and white rice. Pickled carrots and daikon, a fish-sauce-based dipping sauce and a small bowl of broth are common accompaniments. Thida Koeut’s home recipe also serves strips of omelette alongside the pork.[1]

Koeut marinates sliced boneless pork with garlic, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, oil, ground red pepper and MSG before grilling it and cutting it into strips. The omelette is seasoned with fish sauce, sugar and MSG, cooked separately, then sliced. She uses pork loin at home and suggests shoulder as a fattier alternative.[1]
