Curanto

Curanto is a shared meal associated with Chiloé. Chile’s tourism guide describes seafood, meat, potatoes and chapaleles cooked together over hot stones in a pit. It presents preparing and eating curanto as a social occasion.[1]

A pot-cooked form, curanto a la olla, is also recorded by the tourism board in Puerto Montt. Its guide to the city points visitors towards the seafood market at Angelmó and includes this form of curanto among the regional foods.[2]
