Dresdner Stollen

Dresdner Stollen is a Christmas yeast bake from Dresden with raisins and a powdered-sugar coating. Its dough includes flour, milk, yeast and sugar, with butter and clarified butter. Raisins or sultanas, candied citron and orange peels, and almonds are characteristic additions.[1]

The spice blend varies between bakeries, and rum may be added. Powdered sugar gives the finished bake its white surface. Individual bakers also vary the quantity of raisins or the amount of butter applied after baking.[1]
