Bubur Manado

Bubur Manado, or tinutuan, is a porridge associated with Manado and the surrounding Minahasa area of North Sulawesi. It combines a small quantity of rice with tubers such as cassava, sweet potato or taro. Firmer vegetables, including pumpkin, are cooked first; water spinach, spinach, kemangi and gedi leaves are added later.[1]

The national cultural-heritage account describes tinutuan mainly as a local breakfast. It may be accompanied by sambal, boiled corn, fried small fish, smoked skipjack or boiled or fried tofu. Adding egg noodles produces a version called midal. The porridge itself brings together vegetables and tubers, while the accompaniments broaden the meal.[1]
