Jambon-beurre

Jambon-beurre is a French baguette sandwich filled with butter and ham. The bread is split lengthwise, buttered on the inside and filled with ham. Cornichons are included in Délifrance’s preparation; Dijon mustard mixed into the butter is an optional variation.[1][2]

Herta’s version uses cooked ham with butter seasoned with thyme, crushed pink peppercorns and pepper. Thin cucumber slices are pickled in a mixture of water, vinegar, sugar and salt, then drained and added to the sandwich.[2]
