Potica

Potica is a Slovenian festive pastry made by rolling filling inside yeast dough. The walnut version published by the Slovenian Tourist Board uses flour, yeast, milk, butter, sugar, salt and egg yolks for the dough. Ground walnuts are prepared with milk and sugar, then combined with warmed honey and cinnamon; eggs are mixed into the cooled filling.[1]

The dough is rolled out, spread with filling and rolled tightly into a baking tin. It rises again and is brushed with beaten egg before baking, then cools briefly in the mould. Other fillings listed by the board include hazelnuts, tarragon, poppy seeds and cheese.[1]
