pempek Palembang

Pempek is associated with Palembang in South Sumatra. Fish is combined with starch to form a dough that is shaped into several varieties. Kapal selam contains an egg, lenjer is elongated, and adaan is round and fried.[1][2]

The accompaniment is cuko, a sauce with sweet, sour and spicy flavours. Different pempek shapes are sold by street vendors, small eateries and restaurants in Palembang. The dish is also available in other parts of Indonesia, including Lampung.[1][2]
